Business volunteers from a cross-section of organisations are required to help facilitate mock interviews sessions and share their expertise with Year 11 pupils. A morning or afternoon session is available if Business Volunteers cannot commit to the whole day.Practice interviews give students the chance to gain confidence and put their new skills into practice with business professionals in a supportive and familiar environment. Once a Business Volunteer has agreed to support the event, they will receive a full briefing, which includes information about parking and refreshments.

Future Founders is building the nation’s largest inclusive community of intentional young entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial-minded leaders. Our programs immerse youth in experiences that inspire and empower them to adopt an entrepreneurial mindset and create their own opportunity.One such program is the Be Your Own Boss Virtual Internship for high school students taking place during January/February 2024. Through a mixture of all-intern sessions and team meetings, students will be led through an accelerated entrepreneurial process with the guidance of real entrepreneurs and innovative business professionals like yourself, as well as past BYOB students, and Future Founders staff.
After four weeks of ideation, creation, and innovation, student teams will present their business solution to a panel of judges for a chance to double their internship stipend and other exciting prizes.
We would greatly appreciate your help in supporting our students to develop their business ideas and perfect their pitches! A range of virtual volunteering are available, each lasting 1/1.5hr hrs long starting at 5:30 PM CT.

On February 10, 2024, Please Don't Die Black Men (PDDBM) will hold a Black History Month charity event from 10 am to 3 pm. This event acknowledges and celebrates the unique heritage and culture of African Americans, and serves to educate others about the important contributions African Americans have made to the fashion industry.Some ways you can help crew, set up, take down crew, runners, advertising and marketing the event, photographer, backstage model dressers, collection coordinators, general admission seating hosts, sponsored student ambassador, VIP seating host, sidewalk directional attendants, parking patrol team, silent auction desk, ticket booth, and wristbands.
Join us in reaching our goal by lending a hand. Your support will play a crucial role in helping us achieve our objective and make a positive impact.
Volunteers are kindly requested to wear: black pants, a red/green/black polo shirt (choose one of the three colors), with non-slip comfortable shoes. Please wear hair up so it does not get in your face.
We will provide: each volunteer receives 1 complimentary ticket to the show, an authentic West African meal, and name tags. Breakfast snacks will also be provided.
Additional comments:
All volunteers must arrive by 8 am on the day of the event (February 10, 2024). C-Tran will be providing event shuttles to and from the fairgrounds from the Vancouver Mall Transit Center. Refugio Rafael is a support facility in central Bolivia for indigenous and migrant mothers and their families.The Refugio provides: an after-school program, medical services, transitional housing, and an economic development/Fair Trade Artisan program. The partnership between Global Gallery and Refugio Rafael started in 2006, where the mothers handicrafts are sold. World Peaces has been the primary Fair Trade partner since 2011.
In March of 2024, Dr. De Jong is leading a service learning trip to Refugio Rafael. Members and groups of the community can travel to Bolivia to volunteer at the facility and learn about the culture. Volunteers will engage in:
- Homework help
- Supporting kids in daily activities
- Playing soccer and games
- Painting
- Fixer-upper tasks
- Gardening
The trip includes one tourist activity. Past activities were: the Uyuni Salt Flats, El Valle de La Luna, Lake Titcaca, and La Paz City Tours.
How much does the service learning trip cost? What is included in the cost?
$1300 plus airfare, visa, and yellow fever vaccine. Cost includes all in country transportation, meals, hotel, and water, as well as one touristy adventure. Does not include souvenirs or gifts.

Mission Bit is a non-profit that offers free coding classes to under-resourced high school students! We are looking for volunteers to help us with our Spring 2024 Bootcamp! The courses vary from Intro to Unity Game Design and Intro to Web Design! The program dates are February 12 - May 10, 2024 on Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays between 3:00-7:00 pm. See below for the full schedule!Classroom volunteers support Mission Bit by assisting our lead instructors with classroom management, tutoring, and answering student questions. Volunteers are only required to come in once a week for a two-hour class.
