Bags and gloves will be provided. Convenient free parking is available.

Help out on the boat doing a variety of tasks to assist the divers who go in the water to locate and send-up marine debris. Duties include: Helping haul the debris onboard the boat; tying lines; handing gear to divers; etc.

Young African students have become less motivated to continue studying science in school because of lack of role models in the science field. Even with the science laboratory practicals and hands on activities they are involved in, they have few career icons to look up to apart from their science teachers.

African students are in dire need of role models in the science field that will motivate them to pursue their chosen career path, a constant connection with scientists across their locality or world wide through our weekly science career talks on zoom from scientists from all around the world will help them expand their horizon to see the big picture beyond their class rooms and laboratories, this will in turn empower them to be the great scientists they aspire to become.

Volunteer with Oakvillegreen to tend and maintain pollinator gardens in Oakville, Ontario to increase local biodiversity and improve ecosystem health. Tasks include weeding, watering and planting native wildflowers and grasses. Stewardship events are run weekly during the months of May - September.

RESET is a Youth Leadership and Social Impact (Entrepreneurship) Event happening this year virtually on August 9th and 10th. This 2 day Youth Social Impact Pitch event is devoted to young people aged 17-22, designing innovative solutions to social justice inequities including: community health and its social determinants, economic and racial justice, youth and community empowerment and environmental sustainability. The scholars work in teams partnered with professional volunteers to develop and propose their change ideas. The event culminates with a pitch of the Youth Design Team proposals, and a panel of judges selecting at least one winning team of social impact entrepreneurs.

Raising capital will allow Collingwood Children’s Farm to broaden what it has to offer and further invest in capital works that will make the Farm a core green space in the heart of the city. By booking your Corporate Experience session, you will be playing a key role in the ongoing sustainability of Collingwood Children’s Farm’s programs and investing in the future of an organisation that seeks to address issues, such as climate change and building community for those facing adversity.

Bringing your team for a day at Collingwood Children’s Farm makes an enormous difference to the community and benefits volunteers personally. It offers the chance to make social connections, develop skills and confidence and develop professional networks, while earning the satisfaction that only a hard day’s work can bring.

And, of course, it’s fun!

Corporate team experience days with CCF are invaluable; you are uniquely placed to tackle large jobs that could otherwise take the Farm weeks or months to complete.
Farm work is physical, outdoors and usually dirty. You might be unloading a delivery of hay, helping set up for our monthly Farmers Market or getting stuck into the gardens.

The list of jobs is endless, but we do have the ability to tailor work to suit all abilities, so no one is left out.

9.15am – Arrival at the Farm
9.30 – Welcome and paying respects to the traditional owners of the land. Tour and history of the Farm and induction.
10.30 – Light Refreshment Break
11.00 – Morning activities that may include – planting, harvesting, moving hay, setting up for market day or many other activities.
1.00pm – lunch (catered by Farm or bring your own for a picnic in the paddock)
2pm – Afternoon self-guided activities on the Farm (or optional add on activities*)

$1000 +GST for a group of up to 12 participants .
Bookings are taken for Monday or Friday.

These costs cover operational costs, a facilitator for the day and helps us to provide opportunities for our social programs across the Farm.
We can include several catered lunch options at an additional cost.

The Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife's corporate volunteering program is currently focussed on tree nursery sites that form part of our project to plant one million trees in bushfire affected areas of Australia. FNPW has worked with a number of corporate supporters and their employees to deliver positive environmental outcomes that proactively engage corporate teams.

FNPW's Bushfire Recovery Program supports natural restoration and community-managed revegetation projects across Australia. Working in partnership with like-minded organisations and community groups, FNPW supports projects for seed collection and storage, growing plants in nurseries and planting trees in their forever homes.

During FNPW's corporate volunteering day at Yankalilla Community Nursery, you'll swap your screens for gardening gloves!

For all corporate volunteering events, an experienced team leader will be onsite to lead your corporate team, to provide information about the site, including local environmental issues and the biodiversity of the area, to deliver a safety briefing and to provide instructions for the volunteers to carry out their activities.

Our corporate teams come away from their experience with a better understanding of the environment, the importance of conserving our native flora and fauna and with an awareness of how activities at home and at work may affect fragile ecosystems.

During your corporate volunteering day at Yankalilla Community Nursery, you will have the opportunity to work together on activities such as the propagation and maintenance of native trees/plants and seedlings, the collection of native seed and the identification and removal of invasive species from the nursery garden.

The many hands of our volunteer teams are greatly appreciated and we look forward to spending the day with you!

Participants should bring:

• Long sleeves
• Broad brim hat
• Sunblock
• Protective eye wear (sunglasses)
• Rain coats if rain is forecast
• Coffee cup and water bottle
• Sturdy foot wear (boots / joggers / hiking shoes)
• Any additional snacks to get you through the day

Yankalilla Community Nursery will provide:

• Friendly staff to guide you through the day
• Gloves
• Tools
• Toilet facilities
• Water, coffee, tea, biscuits and lunch

As this day is both a team building and environmentally based one, we encourage you all to car pool and, on the day, break up into various groups of people you don’t quite know at your organisation. By the end of the day we hope that you will have just a little bit more of an understanding of our natural environment and your fellow work colleagues.
