Cybelle Planète’s ecovolunteering opportunitites are offered to employees, thanks to the support of their employer*, and within the framework of their agreed upon annual vacations. To enable this, the employer must have first established an Ecotime-off partnership (or congé éco-solidaire) with the non-profit Cybelle Planète. The employers sponsorship donation** will allow the project to finance the necessary material and manpower to sustain itself as well as the hosting of ecovolunteers.
One or more employees can participate. You can find more information about Ecotime-off partnerships on our website: www.cybelle-planete.org
By going to these projects alone or as a group, the employees will be able to bring their skills and motivation as well as learn new skills and know-how. It is a sustainable process that allows employers and their employees to implement their commitment towards biodiversity and the planet.
* Every legal form of establishment can create an Ecotime-off partnership with Cybelle Planète: private business, business Foundation, non-profit or public establishment.
** Every donation made to Cybelle Planète gives the right to a tax deduction (for all establishments or people who are taxable in France).

SFUA is looking for volunteers to help glean green beans at a farm in Pomona. What is gleaning you ask?
Gleaning is the practice of harvesting produce from a commercial farm after the farmers have made a pass through and picked all of the high quality produce that grocery stores expect. It becomes economically unviable for farmers to make a 2nd or 3rd pass so they allow gleaners onto their fields to harvest the remaining crop.
The produce will be donated to local food banks and food pantries to feed hungry people this holiday season.
This is an amazing opportunity to give back this Holiday season to those less fortunate than us.
As a bonus, volunteers may take home with them a small amount of beans to share with their friends and family.
I have a flyer available to post at your place of work, club, or community if you feel moved by our mission to reduce food waste and would like to help increase our reach.
Volunteer activity starts at 9am and volunteers may stay for as long as they would like!
We recommend volunteers wear hiking boots or work boots, but any closed-toed shoe would be fine.
Bring water, snacks, and sun protection. Volunteers may bring a pair of gloves if they would like but they are not necessary. Gloves will be provided for those who would like to borrow a pair.
Volunteers will need to sign a liability waiver on-site.

Forest Fire Risk Prevention Derivatives in Northern California
Bobby Fishkin, lead author
In 2018, Sacramento was named the ""the Most Polluted City on Earth"" due to ""smoke from Camp Fire,"" This proposal aims to prevent that from happening again through adopting a systemic approach and collaborating with stakeholders to actively prevent future such events. The insurance industry, along with institutional chief risk officers, have begun to recognize the importance of moving from ""loss compensation to loss prevention.""
CrowdDoing and Project Heather propose launching a prevention derivative with two new stakeholders: (a) contingent payers who pay in proportion to the reduction in risk, and (b) impact investors who finance social innovations in which their return is similarly proportional to the reduction in risk. It will build on existing precedents for contingent contracts involving social- innovation-based risk prevention.
HR Business Partner Volunteer, Forest Fire Prevention Derivatives, CrowdDoing
A spectrum of forest fire risk prevention approaches are available: from creative new social innovations to well-established interventions. The forest fire risk prevention derivative would first survey existing forest fire prevention interventions in Greater Sacramento with an eye towards which ones might be suitable to support and expand. It would then review global social innovations that might be relevant to Northern California to determine which to replicate. Entities involved in risk management and risk securitisation, from insurers to reinsurers to retrocessionaires, ought to welcome the chance to share liability proportionally through a commons of prevention innovations. The prevention derivative can expand as more institutions and individuals join as contingent payers and impact investors in order prevent a larger portion of collective risk. Payments by private and public institutions to support prevention derivatives can be in-kind, through services, and/or financial.
