The Annual Fall Country Jamboree is one of the longest running events in Volusia County. This event features examples of pioneer living that included black-smiths, cane grinding and a boil, spinning, weaving, wood working, and many more historical demonstrations. The Handmade Arts and Crafts show features the original work of artists from all over. Local businesses and non-profits set up to share their products.
The music line up is one that you will have to search far and wide to match. Featuring both well-known established artists as well as the best of the up and coming. Every year we fill all 6 stages and time slots, that’s over 170 performances, and unfortunately have to turn performers away. But that doesn't stop them from just showing up with their instruments and joining in a jam or workshop. With two workshop tents and two jam tents music is abundant! We would like to thank all of the talented teachers who volunteer their time to run these tents.
Events like these help keep history alive.

wALL Austin is a non-profit art complex and gathering space in East Austin, bringing music lovers, musicians, and the community together to celebrate and create art while fundraising for social and environmental justice. The marquee piece of the space will be a 1000 x 10 ft wall (focus on the ALL in “wall). In our political climate, the word "wall" has become synonymous with mistrust and separation. This project aims to reclaim the concept of a wall not as divisive, but as strong and unifying. As such, the wall is composed of bricks engraved with inspiring or meaningful song lyrics. The public can purchase a brick bearing a favorite lyric, with all funds going to one of six charities we will be supporting. As the wall gets built by the public over time we hope to demonstrate that we all have common ground and are all capable of contributing change in the world.
The space will also include a state of the art music venue and event space, shady parkland and picnic groves for public gatherings, an art gallery, and space for cultural and educational programming.
We're in the middle of our buildout of our first phase and need help rehabbing the space we're in (an old juvenile detention center!). Activities include converting a shabby courtyard on the property into an hacienda-style outdoor music venue, painting and hanging art in an indoor hallway to transform it into an art gallery, plenty of landscaping, and other odds and ends.
Each volunteer that spends at least four hours working on the site will get to put their own brick in the wall with their favorite song lyric.

From August 1st 2019 we are carrying out a project on birdlife conservation at Lake Tota (Colombia), aiming to help on protecting an endemic and endangered bird species called Apolinar's Wren (Cistothorus apolinari), at a certain location site of this lake. Work will consist on field and academic research, habitat restoration, community integration, workshops with locals in the surrounding rural area (adults and children), and a birdtourism package preparation to involve both locals as service providers, and birdlife travellers & enthusiasts (national and international level). The volunteering opportunity offered (Field & Community Assistant) will have the purpose of cooperating on assisting the whole work in every front (in permanent articulation with the project leader), helping on integrating and providing the team with the resources and logistics needed, as well as to having other certain role responsibilities on the project structure (which will depend very much on the volunteer's profile).
By having two volunteering opportunities available, we expect to have one person with emphasis on field work, and another one on community work.
