After a long winter, the children's garden beds at the Boerner Botanical Gardens need to be cleaned up and readied for our visiting students to use. The garden beds will need some general maintenance, like weeding, edging, and mulching. There is a hoophouse frame attached to one of the raised garden beds that will need to be dismantled. Finally, at least one of the garden beds will be planted with vegetable seeds to use as a learning garden for future students.

Please dress appropriately for working in a garden and for the weather.
Limited amounts of gardening gloves and gardening tools are available, you can bring your own tools if you wish.

• The minimum duration of a Caritas-Bergeinsatz is 5 days (Monday to Friday), but can be up to several months according to your preferences.
• Caritas-Bergeinsatz is open for all people aged between 18 and 70 years.
• The main requirements are motivation and a physical constitution of being able to help on a mountain farm. Furthermore, you should be speaking German or French (according to the farming family’s profile).

The goal is to get Kohl's volunteer associates into a developing park in Ames, Iowa to plant trees. This will both improve the park and give the Kohl's volunteers a feeling of ownership/belonging in the park. The Volunteers will work with the Outdoor Alliance of Story County (OASCO) and Story County Conservation (SCC) to plant the trees. Volunteers need to come prepared for the weather with heavy duty walking/hiking shoes and working gloves. Sunscreen, insect repellent and eye protection are likely to be helpful.

We are looking for volunteers to assist us in our outreach and education efforts with rural tribal communities in New Mexico. This may include working with communities to implement four-season food and water production systems to withstand the temperature extremes often seen in New Mexico.

We are the only licensed Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Butler County, PA and help over 400 animals every year. We are an ALL VOLUNTEER organization and need lots of help getting ready for the upcoming wildlife baby season. We need help getting the facility ready for all of the birds that will need our help. Our outdoor aviaries need a good bit of work this spring, the rehab room needs a top to bottom cleaning and our outdoor space needs attention so the native plants will thrive and produce seeds and berries for the birds that we release. Every little bit helps!

Last year our school was granted a wonderful outdoor classroom and garden in our courtyard at our school. The project took around 200 people to complete and has been a great addition to our school. We now have a volunteer day sponsored by our K-Kids program where we need help to clean up our classroom for spring. We appreciate your time at North School.
