Become a Crayon Ambassador – Make a Lasting Impact on Kids and the Planet!

Are you passionate about protecting the environment and helping children in need? Join Crayon Collection as a Crayon Ambassador and be part of a movement that brings creativity to classrooms and keeps waste out of landfills.

Every year, millions of crayons are thrown away—even though they don’t decompose. Meanwhile, many Title 1 schools across the U.S. lack basic art supplies. Crayon Collection bridges this gap by rescuing gently used crayons and redistributing them to underfunded schools. With your help, we can grow this powerful cycle of giving.

🌍 What You’ll Do:
As a Crayon Ambassador (1-2 hours/week), you’ll be the local hero who helps make it all happen:
1. Contact restaurants in your community to invite them to join our Crayon Recycling Program.
2. Match participating restaurants with local Title 1 schools and help coordinate crayon drop-offs.
3. Track and report results to our Program Manager to help us measure our collective impact.

📋 What You Need:
- No prior volunteer experience necessary—we’ll guide you!
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (you may need to transport crayons).
- Ability to lift light boxes (~5–10 lbs).

📍 Where We Need Help Most:
We’re especially looking for Ambassadors in the Santa Monica, CA area, but volunteers from across the United States are welcome!

This is a flexible, hands-on opportunity to make a direct difference in your community—and in classrooms that need your support.

✨ Ready to Get Started?
Email us at info@crayoncollection.org to sign up or learn more. Thank you for being someone who cares—and acts!

City Nature Challenge is a free four-day event where communities across the world collaborate to see which city can gather the greatest number of wildlife observations, find the most species and engage the most people in nature connection.

Explore nature from wherever you are in the GTA by finding wild species close to home. Even watching birds from your window is helpful!

Record observations by taking a picture or recording a sound of what you find on a smart phone or camera and upload it to your iNaturalist account using the phone app or you personal PC. Observations submitted to iNaturalist between April 25 - 28 will be included in the challenge.

Each record of a plant or animal submitted helps scientists track and understand local biodiversity around the world.
