Opportunity Details

The Youth Center respectfully seeks your support with our Annual Christmas Tree Lot. This event that allows us to raise funds in support of educational, mentoring, art, and enrichment programs for children and youth.

We can use volunteers anytime from November 25 to December 17. Weekends anytime 9 am – 9 p.m. or weekdays 12-9 p.m. Lot volunteers can help with watering the trees, sweeping, getting twine of the trees, getting hot-chocolate table organized, etc. Kids can come help out as long as parents supervise them.

We are also looking for adult volunteers to help us when we our “standing days” when we fresh cut Christmas trees that came from Oregon. Here are all 7 shifts. Help with one or all we be VERY much appreciated.

Opportunity Details

YWCA Toronto is seeking volunteers who can provide one-on-one mentoring to the women in our IT Program, Mobile Applications and Development. Our program consists of 16 women who are interested in learning more about applying for IT positions within the financial sector.

Responsibilities: Volunteers will share their own experiences finding work, discuss current opportunities within the financial sector, offer tips on the job search process, and review and provide feedback on the participants’ qualifications, resumes, cover letters, etc.

YWCA Program Details: The Mobile Applications and Development Program is focused on Java Review, iOS, Android App Development, as well as Salesforce Administration and Development. Participants will be completing their Scrum Master certification.

Benefits of Volunteering: This event will provide volunteers with the opportunity to share their knowledge and experience with women who are either new to Canada or settled Canadians who have been out of the workforce for a while and are currently updating their skills to get back into the workforce.

Opportunity Details

The Athens Y is hosting our first Trunk or Treat! Our goal is to promote a safe and fun environment for our children and families by offering an alternative to trick-or-treating. Kids can trick-or-treat from trunk to trunk full of goodies with parents close by! We need your help creating a festive atmosphere for the event! We need help running a face painting station, the blow-up slide, and selling concessions. All volunteers are encouraged to dress-up in their BEST non-scary/family friendly costume!

Keep our community warm through the holidays! We are hosting our 4th Annual Coat Drive to prepare for winter weather. There are two ways to get involved listed below!

1. We are collecting gently used coats throughout the month of September. If you or your children have any coats that are too small please drop them off at the YMCA Front Desk!

2. We are distributing coats at the YMCA on Sunday, October 7th and Monday, October 8th. Sunday is coat pick up for FOSTER FAMILIES and HOMELESS only. Monday is for anyone else who would like a coat. We have 6 shifts that need volunteers. All shifts are listed below. We would LOVE to have Kohl's volunteers help us distribute coats!

Opportunity Details

The Canyon County Classic is a one-mile race for kids 13 and under of all abilities. Participation is the goal of this race; everyone who participates is a winner!

The YMCA would not be able to host this event without the help of great volunteers like you! This volunteer opportunity is family friendly, with help needed on and off the course. Come cheer on youth and mentor healthy lifestyles at this annual community event hosted at the Caldwell YMCA on October 13, 2018.

Opportunity Details

Last year the Wadsworth YMCA was responsible for serving over 1,350 qualified recipients with financial assistance for their memberships and/or programs at the YMCA. Those memberships and programs equated to more than $53,000 in assistance awarded by the Wadsworth YMCA just last year. Our Annual Fall Festival helps raise money to assist in our Annual Campaign which helps support our financial assistance program. 100% of all proceeds from the Fall Festival benefit Wadsworth and surrounding area residents with assistance in programs and memberships.
