Volunteers for this YMCA Camp Ironwood opportunity will help facilitate water games for some of the older elementary campers on a potentially hot afternoon outside. YMCA campers are from all different backgrounds and enjoy fun experiences and are used to special guests. Volunteers will be interacting with children and should expect to get wet and be exposed to the elements of the outdoors.

Opportunity Details

The YMCA HYPE campers (middle schoolers) host a car wash at the Y every summer to support the annual giving efforts. Because often middle schoolers aren't familiar with how to wash cars properly, they could use guidance from adults, in addition to the YMCA Counselors. Other students will be stuffing backpacks for the Habitat for Humanity organization and need help with the labor part of that project. If you volunteer for this opportunity, you'll be working with and offering guidance to our middle school campers in their service learning for the week.

The Greater Kingsport Family YMCA is hosting an 80's Dance Party to benefit their Annual Giving Campaign. All proceeds go to support the scholarships for YMCA Afterschool, summer Camp, and membership for those who in the community who cannot afford the full fees.
The 80's Dance Party will be an opportunity to have fun while supporting an important cause. The 80's tribute band, SPANK, is the headliner with a fun night of trivia, a costume contest, food from East Coast Wings, throwback games, and an all around good time, partly sponsored by Eastman Credit Union.
The YMCA is a leading nonprofit organization with the cause of strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

Under the guidance of the Volunteer Director, the Program Assistant is responsible for assisting in the execution of a wide variety of quality programs and activities for youth in the preschool/afterschool/camp setting that are aimed at raising their academic, social, emotional, and physical well-being. Along with other assistants, this group of volunteers performs and interacts with the youth in every aspect of their YMCA experience. Volunteers are crucial in ensuring the community we serve is given the services, assistance, and fair treatment they deserve.
All volunteers within this position are required to undergo a Background Screening and Fingerprinting prior to working with youth.

Under the guidance of the Office Manager, the Spanish Translator Volunteer is responsible for assisting with the translation of all marketing/registration/program information sheets. The Spanish Translator Volunteer will complete tasks as need that include, but are not limited to, updating the YMCA website with translated content, translating newsletters and information sheets to parents, as well as marketing material for the community. Volunteers are crucial in ensuring the community we serve is given the services, assistance, and fair treatment they deserve.

The YWCA Northcentral PA, River Valley Regional YMCA and Williamsport Area School District Education Foundation are excited to announce our communitie’s first collaborative fundraiser: Over The Edge – Williamsport.

This daring, urban adventure encourages participants to think and act boldly for the well-being of our community. The first 75 volunteers to raise at least $1,000 for either the YWCA, the YMCA, or the WASD Education Foundation will experience Williamsport’s longest possible rappel, from the roof of the Lycoming County Housing Authority’s William Hepburn High Rise apartment building on Saturday, October 27th.

The RVR YMCA, the YWCA, and the WASD Education Foundation work every day to change lives through Health, Education, and empowerment and through this event we are joining together to do just that!

We want this event to be a family friendly event so we are seeking volunteers to assist with the children's activity area that will include: a bounce house, touch a truck fire truck, face painting, and possibly a few additional activities.

Camp Eastman at the Torigian Family YMCA is a day camp program for girls and boys ages five to fifteen. At Camp Eastman, children will make new friends, discover new passions, explore creativity and develop skills through a wide range of fun activities in the great outdoors. No family or child is every turned away for lack of ability to pay, and in 2017, over $80,000 in financial assistance was provided to 123 campers including specific support for local homeless families.

Due to the slew of intense storms this past Winter, our camps are in dire need of clearing and cleaning to make them safe and fun for our upcoming summer camp season. Wear heavy duty footwear, long pants, and bring some old gloves and help us to clear brush and branches to help give the youth in our communities the best summer ever!
