Monthly career nights at Aunt Bette’s Place Community Center, located on campus at Somerset Village, are created to expose a diverse group of low-income youth to different educational and career paths.

Somerset Village offers 64-units of permanent, affordable housing for low-income families. Additional support services available for residents, including health care access and job training.

Roll up your sleeves and help us freshen up the outdoor grounds at our Trinity Place apartments. You bring the gloves and we’ll provide the yard tools to help beautify the outside space with light yard work: weeding, pruning, etc. to spruce up the grounds for the women and families living in there. Angeline's prepares and serves hot meals daily. We are seeking volunteers to help with meal preparation, service, and clean up for the breakfast and lunch services. Volunteers must be comfortable interacting with homeless women and aware of common behaviors in a shelter environment. Volunteers must also dress for a kitchen environment, non-slip shoes required.

Angeline's Center for Homeless Woman is a shelter and day center that provides safety and support to women experiencing homelessness. More than 200 women each day access Angeline's drop-in services, which includes meals, laundry, showers, lockers, and connections to community resources.

The YWCA Central Area Food Bank serves over 300 families each week. This service takes a great deal of volunteer support, therefore our Food Bank is always in need of volunteers to help meet the need. Volunteers will help with a variety of tasks that may include setting up the packing area, filling bags for food delivery, putting away food donations, and breaking down boxes for recycling.

Volunteers are asked to dress in layers of comfy clothes that can get dirty. Work is done mostly outside, in any weather, and temperatures vary. Bring a water bottle and a face mask. Masks are required when working indoors and volunteers should be vaccinated against covid-19.

Central Area Food Bank distributes food weekly to residents in YWCA emergency shelter and transitional housing, as well as low-income families throughout the community.

With 1,000 leaders from the corporate, philanthropic and nonprofit communities in attendance, we need volunteers to help us prepare! Volunteers will clip a total of 1,000 lanyards to 1,000 badge holders, and do small assembly work for donation vases.

Cycle for Youth is a five-hour indoor cycling event to support New York City public school middle and high school students build strong minds, body, and spirits through cycling, career and college preparation programs that teach self-confidence, tenacity, analytical thinking and endurance.

Participants can ride solo or get a team together to share the ride and the fundraising. Riders can ride for one hour or all four. Each hour will be taught by professional spinning instructors and I Challenge Myself participants who will lead exciting rides to a variety of music. Ride at your own pace or challenge yourself. For each hour that an individual/team rides they must fundraise $500 for I Challenge Myself.

Virtual Angels provide supportive cancer care, by engaging children every week in homework-aid, educational and emotional support (Homework Club) OR age-appropriate 8 activities that are delivered for free monthly to the volunteers and families (Fun In A Box) to help the children navigate the changes that come with a cancer diagnosis and healthily address their emotions.
