At Liberty's Promise, we have 2 different volunteering opportunities to visit our programs and support our youth.

The first is to volunteer as a career speaker, this will involve you visiting one of our after-school programs and speaking to our youth about your career, how you got to where you are, and providing information and advice on how our students can pursue the same path. These can occur any time of the year at any of our schools throughout the DMV.

Our second role takes place in the spring of every year and would see you volunteer at one of our jobs skills workshops. We run these sessions for youth looking to participate in our internship program, where we work with them to write their resumes, learn some interview etiquette, and practice mock interviews.

Your Next Steps - US connects people with mentors to help them reach their goals, understand their passion/

If you have experience and insights to pass on, you can help by accompanying and mentoring them in their journey. We usually expect 1-2 per month. The goal is for the mentor to share their story about their career. How they started, where they are now, and where they want to finish. This will help the students understand the multitude of careers and paths before making a decision on a college and a degree.

We match interested students with mentors in that industry or career.

JA BizTown is a simulated city where fourth through sixth graders experience hands-on workplace, business, and personal finance challenges. After a few weeks of in-classroom curriculum, students are selected for a job and spend a day at the JA facility taking on the role of a real-world professional. The fun, immersive atmosphere inspires teamwork, critical thinking, and decision-making skills for each student.

After participating in a comprehensive, in-school curriculum, students come to JA BizTown to get a taste of the real world of work through applied, hands-on learning. As a volunteer, you guide students through the day, offering your firsthand knowledge and expertise to enhance their experiences. Each day, a team of 15-20 volunteers helps students have a meaningful JA BizTown experience. JA staff are also on-site to lead the simulation. Online training is required prior to your JA BizTown visit. In addition, volunteers arrive early on simulation day for hands-on instruction.

Visions for Children benötigt langfristige Unterstützung im PR-Bereich!

Die Mindesteinsatzdauer würde 3 Monate (also etwa 15 Stunden) betragen.

Was wir dir bieten:
